MooMoo Fundraiser for Mamamoo Solar
Story
Female Genital Mutilation is a practice that is carried out on girls between infancy and 15. It is still a very common and prevalent practice in many countries, passed down from traditions. These countries are highly concentrated in the following continents: Africa, Middle East, and Asia. Treatments for FGM can cost up to 1.4 billion USD per year in said countries.
International Day of Zero Tolerance for Female Genital Mutilation was on February 6.
Mamamoo’s Solar decided to research on FGM and create a video (linked below) bringing awareness to FGM and how we can all participate and help this cause.
She continues to use her platform to educate others on subjects we may not all be aware of, and encourages us to do our parts to help others out there. For this, us fans of Mamamoo, would like to show our appreciation and do our parts by funding for a donation to be under her name.
February 21 will be Solar’s birthday, if we can all contribute to this fund, to be donated to an organization that Solar herself had even donated to, will be a huge event.
In return, we will be creating a booklet to commemorate this event. It will include a map of origin of donations received and also have birthday wishes to Solar. If you would like to be included, please include your birthday wish and place (state, country or province, country) down below.
